So Homer is hoping with all his puppy heart that his forever family gives him a brand new name when he arrives 🏠 He promises he’ll learn it in a flash and will reward you with puppy kisses for changing it quickly from HOMER BARNWELL. The puppies try not to tease him over it, but it’s hard.

I blame it on Sherlock Holmes and an obscure character listed in a 1940s-ish movie version of my favorite detective’s adventures. It seemed like such a good idea at the time, unusual, and certainly, a puppy had never been named that before. This boy with his flaming red coat and expressive dark eyes needed a quirky but still distinguished name, I can just see a deerstalker hat on his little head, a tweed cape swirling around his paws, Dr. Watson following close behind….

Yes, he’s hoping for a real dog name like Bodie, Max, or Pilot. Anything would be an improvement in his eyes. Also on his wishlist is a house full of kids who will give him a bright blue collar and matching leash, take him along to all the volleyball games, and he can sit with mom and dad, cheering everyone on with all his puppy might.
